In Store Data Recovery - How it works


  • Step 1: Check-in & Initial Assessment

    Once you bring your Mac or external storage device into our store, we will then extract the data drive to be scanned and examined. Typically, this is completed within a few hours. There is no charge for this procedure.
  • Step 2: Data Recovery Quote

    Once we have completed our examination of the storage device, we will then provide you with a formal upfront recovery quote and estimated timeline before moving forward. If for any reason the recovery takes us longer to perform we do not charge any additional time.

    Step 3: Data Recovery Process

    After you have approved the data recovery quote we will start the recovery process. Since each recovery case is different, we will keep you updated frequently to provide you with an estimated completion time. All data is extracted to our secure internal temporary backup server.

    Step 4: Recovered Data

    As soon as the data is recovered, we will examine it for integrity. If the data files come back corrupted we will attempt to restore the data back to a usable state. You may provide your own drive for us to place the data back onto.

    Step 5: Pickup & Pay

    We only take payment when the recovery is complete. In large data recovery cases, a special deposit may be required. Payment can be made via credit/debit card or cash. In the event we cannot recover working data there is no charge to you for our time.
